This 9-pin to 9-pin IEEE-1394 FireWire cable is used to transfer images and files between two FireWire compatible devices. Common uses are to connect a DV camcorder to a PC or DVR for downloading movies, or to connect an external hard drive to a PC, DV, FireWire, i.Link and IEEE 1394 are different names for the same cable type.
